ABSTRACT: This study evaluated the effects of Acacia mearnsii tannin extract on milk fatty acid profile dairy ewes and cows. In experiment 1, twenty-four Lacaune received one following dietary treatments: control (no added to diet), T30 (30 g extract/kg concentrate), T40 (40 concentrate). 2, thirty Jersey cows either a diet diet) or same containing 40 concentrate (T40). Dry matter intake, production solids content were unaffected by supplementation. The cis-9, trans-11 conjugated linoleic (CLA) increased linearly 21% in fat from fed extract, while C18:2 n-6 (linoleic acid) tended (P = 0.051) increase 13% TE. supplementation with black wattle improves nutritional quality small extent, no adverse performance gross composition.
